Práce se zabývá fenoménem rasismu v České republice. Hlavním záměrem této práce je popsat, analyzovat a interpretovat, diskursivní praktiky konstruující Romy jako odlišnou etnickou skupinu. Analýzou těchto diskursů však chci poukázat na rasový koncept skrytý pod maskou etnicity. Na konkrétních příkladech pak poukazuji na to, jak jsou Češi jako etnikum konstruováni v opozici k Romům. Následně v těchto vztazích nalézt struktury moci. |

This work focuses on the question of theorizing Roma as „the significant Other“. Within a larger research framework that studies the ways czech people speak and write about Roma, this work examines one major strategy in such discourse. I use a social constructionist approach to ethnicity is a guard against an assumption of the essentials permanence of groups and cultures. The tool of this aim is a specific qualitative research method - critical discourse analysis. Discourse plays a prominent role in the reproduction of racism. It expresses, persuasively conveys and legitimates ethnic or racial stereotypes and prejudice. |
