Abstrakt:
A significant Czech politican František Udržal (he lived between 3 January 1866 - 25 April 1938) expressed a great interest in his pradecessors already at the beginning oh his political career. The research he carried out had proved that their family came from the village Dolní Roveň in East Bohemia. The village was founded at the 13th century by German colonists. Gradually, Czech citizens began to prevail in the number of inhabitants. Among them rangle also F. Udržal's predecessors. The first record of them dates back to 1588. In the following centuries his ancestors' fates were different as those of the Fuks family from which Udržal's mother came. However, all of them were connected by a responsible relation to arable land which was felt the base of their property. The wealthiest of them took over the native village administration, as first by the order of the feudals and, from the beginning of the 19th century, as elected majors.
