Analysis of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics Building Energy Use Intensity in Pardubice
(Institute of Physics, 2023) Arif, Rahardjo Imam; Pidanič, Jan; Roleček, Jiří; Garniwa, Iwa; Suhartanto, Heru
The investigation focused on analyzing the energy usage patterns of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics in Pardubice. The recorded energy consumption data were examined and discussed. The average heating energy consumption in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics building in 2020, 2021, and 2022 is 686.45 MWh or 57% of the total energy equivalent value. Meanwhile, the average electricity consumption in the building during the same period is 518.97 MWh or 43% of the total energy equivalent value. The average fluctuation in heating energy consumption used in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics building tends to increase by 2.9% per year, while the average fluctuation in electricity consumption tends to increase by 3.3% per year. According to the findings, the average comprehensive energy consumption per unit area in the building was 146,03kWh/m2. It was the sum of the energy use intensity for heating and the energy use intensity for electricity. The average energy use intensity value for heating in the building was 83.16 kWh/m2, while the average energy use intensity value for electricity was 62.78 kWh/m2.

Utilization of Machine Learning to Detect Sudden Water Leakage for Smart Water Meter
(IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), 2019) Fikejz, Jan; Merta, Jan
This article deals with the use of machine learning to detect sudden water leakage. A smart water meter, which enables monitoring the water consumption of the observed object, is used as the source of input data. Based on these data and their analysis, a symbolic regression, which must know not only the input parameters but also the structure of the model, was finally used to build the model. After finding a suitable function and standard deviation from the model, it is possible to set the required sensitivity and thereby detect anomalous states of water consumption in monitored time windows. Since the smart water meter also has a ball valve, if a sudden water leakage is detected, the water meter can autonomously close the main supply and thus avoid extensive damage.

Utilization of computer simulation for solution of flood-control resevoir protection function
(Dime University of Genoa, 2019) Fikejz, Jan; Roušar, Ladislav; Zachoval, Tomáš
This article deals with the use of a computer simulation to solve the protective function of a flood-control reservoir as a support tool for flood wave transformation. Attention is primarily focused on the design and implementation of a simulation tool enabling to implement selected mathematical approach for numerical solution of the balance equation of inflow, outflow and retention of water in the reservoir. The designed software tool is then used for the selected experiment of transformation of theoretical flood wave by flood-control reservoir.

Utilization of computer simulation for detection non-standard situations within single-track lines
(Dime University of Genoa, 2019) Fikejz, Jan; Merta, Jan
This article deals with the use of computer simulation for induction and detection of non-standard/crisis situations within single-track railways. First, attention is paid to the collection and evaluation of historical data, which are then used for the designed simulator. The article then focuses on the design of a simulation tool for inducing non-standard/crisis situations within a monitored segment of a railway network. Simulation tool is then used for selected experiments.

Use reduced track profile and discrete simulation to calculate train travel time
(Dime University of Genoa, 2018) Fikejz, Jan; Merta, Jan
This article deals about utilization of reduced track profile for dynamic calculation of train travel time. Attention is firstly aimed on the description of the location of trains in the designed model of railway network. Further attention is aimed on the design of the dynamic calculation of train travel time. This calculation utilization of computer simulation and reduced track profile as a substitute of the real track profile of substitute gradients.

Utilisation of computer simulation for dynamic calculation of train delays
(EUROSIS-ETI, 2018) Fikejz, Jan; Brožek, Josef
This article deals about utilisation of computer simulation for dynamic calculation of train delays within the rail network model and satellite navigation. Attention is firstly aimed on the description of the trains position in the designed railway network model. Further attention is focused on the design of the dynamic calculation of train delays with utilization of reduced track profile and using computer simulation.

Use of HLA During Customer Flow Simulation in a Polyclinic
(IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), 2016) Brožek, Josef; Fikejz, Jan; Gago, Lumír; Samotán, Vojtěch
This article covers application of a distributed simulation for creation of a simulation model of a polyclinic. The goal was to monitor the individual patient flows (further referred to as “customer flows”) during day-to-day operation, during exceptional situations and above all, to study the effects of exceptional situations on the system. This project is specific in terms of framing several bachelors’ theses, which overlap into practice. The article briefly covers the chosen technology, motivation behind the selection of the technology, the principle of data collection and processing, methods of validation and verification, and the principle of creation of alternative scenarios and their evaluation. A discussion on the topic of suitability and advantages of using HLA instead of a common monolithic simulator or simulation tool is also a part of the article.
