The Analysis of Wind Farm Impact in Primary Radar System
(University of Indonesia, 2017) Pidanič, Jan; Juryca, Karel; Suhartanto, Heru
The paper deals with problematic of the influence of the wind turbines on the Primary Radar System. A real scenario that includes two wind turbines was chosen for the analysis. A simulator of reflected signals from the wind turbines was developed. In the start of paper, the principle of the developed simulator is described followed by the own analysis. The results from the work will be used for developing of the mitigation techniques for suppression of this influence.

The Wind Farm Simulator of Reflected Signals in Primary Radar System
(University of Indonesia, 2017) Pidanič, Jan; Juryca, Karel; Suhartanto, Heru
The spreading of the renewable energy especially wind farms, increases possibilities of negative influence on the detection capabilities of primary radar systems. The paper deals with modelling of a simulator for reflected signals from wind farms. The developed simulator enables echo simulation from wind farms, with many variable input parameters, that helps with analysis of influence. The simulator simplifies and speeds up the development of wind farm mitigation techniques, on primary radar systems. The paper describes characterization of the model of the simulator that includes multipath reflection and a brief analysis

The Modelling of Wind Turbine Influcence in the Primary Radar Systems
(University of Indonesia, 2017) Pidanič, Jan; Juryca, Karel; Suhartanto, Heru
Wind turbines or wind farms present a major source of renewable energy. The expansion of wind turbines across the world rapidly increases. Unfortunately, for radar systems, wind turbines are a big source of clutter that can negatively influence the behavior of the detection capabilities of radar systems, or even totally “blind” radar systems. The problematic of mitigation of the influence of the wind turbines on radar systems is highly variable and depends on parameters of the wind turbines and radar systems. The main negative parameters of wind turbines are large Radar Cross Sections and Doppler shift spread of reflected signals. For the determination of general mitigation techniques, it is important to make a deep analysis of the different types of scenarios using a developed simulator of reflected signals from a wind turbine. This paper describes developed simulator and wind turbine parameter analysis

The radio coverage monitoring by low-cost system based on SDR
(Croatian Society Electronics in Marine - ELMAR, 2017) Pidanič, Jan; Valenta, Vojtěch; Juryca, Karel
The paper presents the design of a low-cost radio coverage monitoring system based on software defined radio. The main purpose of monitoring systems is real-time, low-cost measurement of coverage of radio signals in different environments. The monitoring systems are composed from a hardware and software part that is developed in the Matlab system. The main outputs from monitoring systems are a measured spectrum with computed characteristics. The software part includes a data viewer also developed in Matlab. The data viewer is used for projection of measured data in a base map, or received power in a timeline. The monitoring system was tested and evaluated. The measurements for different radio services (FM broadcast, 3G, LTE, DVB-T) are presented.

Analysis of DVB-T2 Signal for Exploitation by Passive Coherent Location System
(IEEE, 2017) Pidanič, Jan; Juryca, Karel
The paper describes basic analysis and research of actual topics dedicated to exploitation of DVB-T2 transmitters by a Passive Coherent Location system (PCL system). The PCL system is based on bistatic radars. The target detection in bistatic radar is solved by computation of the Cross Ambiguity function. The paper focuses on description of structure and various parameters of the DVB-T2 signal and its influence on the shape of Cross Ambiguity Function.

Targets detection Analysis in the Passive Coherent Location System in Single Frequency Network
(IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), 2016) Juryca, Karel; Pidanič, Jan; Němec, Zdeněk
The paper deals with the primary analysis of the target detection in the Passive Coherent Location system that exploits DVB-T transmitters in a Single Frequency Network. The analysis is based on the behavior of a Cross Ambiguity function and is done for one/more targets in one bistatic radar. The Single Frequency Network system uses the same central carrier frequency for all transmitters. The analysis shows that multipath effect significantly influences the determination of the precise accuracy of the maximum of the CA function.

DVB-T Signal Analysis on Passive Coherent Location System in Single Frequency Network
(IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), 2016) Juryca, Karel; Pidanič, Jan; Němec, Zdeněk
The paper describes a problematic about analysis of the Cross Ambiguity Function of a DVB-T signal in the Passive Coherent Location system. The analysis includes effects of the different parameters of the DVB-T signal on the Cross Ambiguity Function. The analyzed parameters are guard interval, effects of the different pilot carriers, etc.
